On February 24, 2025, the 5th General Assembly of the SENSE Project took place in the town of Öblarn, Austria. As the last general assembly before concluding the project, the agenda was designed to review progress, evaluate current developments, and define the next steps for the finalization of the project.

The first half of the day was dedicated to reviewing the status of various proof-of-concepts (PoCs). Siemens provided updates on both the in-vivo use case and the public simulation use case, demonstrating their advancements through a live demo, including chatbot integration. Discussions focused on the remaining tasks, emphasizing critical next steps for finalization. Additionally, WU presented a user-centered explanation demo, showcasing the importance of usability and accessibility in the developed solutions.

AEE followed with a presentation of their latest developments in the smart building use case, highlighting the seamless integration of smart technologies in building management. Similar to the Smart Grid PoCs, the discussion centered on finalization strategies and pending tasks.

The afternoon sessions were dedicated to evaluating the project’s sustainability and technical efficiency. MME provided an update on sustainability metrics, underscoring both achievements and areas for improvement. SIE conducted a technical assessment, detailing evaluation timelines, key contributors, and assigned responsibilities. AEE led the discussion on smart building use case evaluations, addressing unique challenges and opportunities within Smart Building implementations.

The concluding segment of the assembly focused on summarizing project results and planning the final phases. All partners collaboratively identified key exploitable results, assessed the status of the public demo, and deliberated potential options for a closing event. Additionally, discussions explored future opportunities and potential new projects that could emerge from SENSE.

Beyond the productive discussions, some colleagues took advantage of Öblarn’s breathtaking landscape the day before the assembly. They enjoyed a skiing session and proudly registered the SENSE Project at the summit, symbolizing the project’s ascent to new heights.

The 5th General Assembly was not just a milestone meeting; it was a testament to the collaborative efforts and dedication of all involved. As the SENSE Project nears its conclusion, its impact on smart energy solutions continues to grow, setting the stage for future innovations.
